Group Alpha has expertise in a number of key technologies. Our engineers have an average of over 20 years of design experience allow us to provide the best in engineering know how. Some key areas are:





Embedded Processor Design: Our engineers have developed systems using a variety of processor families including Intel, Motorola, Atmel, and Microchip. We can use this experience to tailor your system development with exactly the eight processor based on cost/performance that is required.
System on Chip and Distributed System Processors: A large portion of the systems we develop use either system on a chip (i.e. Triscend) technology, or processors with embedded communications capabilities. We are registered developers for LonWorks, NetSilicon, and Triscend systems.
Analog Circuit Design: We offer a full range of analog circuit design experience ranging from small circuit/high precision designs to high power systems. We have design switching power supplies and motor drives ranging from a few watts to 20 horsepower.
Reliability Analysis: Many of our customers need reliability predictions for their systems. We can provide either MIL-HDBK-217 analysis or BELLCORE reliability predictions.
Communications: Our communications expertise includes local area networks (Ethernet, CAN, LonWorks, CeBus, X-10, arcNet) and wide area networks (Cellular, two way paging, satellite, dedicated RF) using a variety of media. We can provide industry standard or use your proprietary communications protocols to give you an optimum solution.
Software: We offer software development for a variety of software environments. These include embedded design around real time kernels, PC products based on Windows, Windows CE, Windows NT and Embedded NT. We also have developed specialized test systems using Nationals LabView product line.
Special Automated Testers: A large number of our transit industry customers need specialized functional testers for use by their customers. We have developed a number of these systems and have provided the hardware, software, and customer training that is needed to successfully deploy these types of systems.
